After a year hiatus, the Chevrolet Trax is back, bigger, and better than ever. The
re-designed 2024 Chevy Trax is the new,
budget-friendly
crossover. Costing less than the previous (2022) model, the 2024 Trax is now the cheapest vehicle GM sells in
the US.
The Trax is now longer, lower, and even wider than the previous generation. There are 4 (LS, LT, RS, and Activ) trim options with features like unique LED headlights that have IntelliBeam (at speeds above 25 mph, high beams can be turned on and off automatically based on surrounding traffic conditions). All models also come standard with OnStar and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning.
Some more features include an 8-inch display screen in the LS and 1RS trims, an 11-inch screen for the upper trim models. All include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Chevy Safety Assist.
Chevrolet has paired the Trax with a 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-three and a six-speed automatic transmission that averages 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
I was completely blown away when I first saw the ‘24 Trax and quickly started digging more into it and have now added it to my list of vehicles to consider when it comes time to upgrade. I do a fair amount of traveling and oftentimes have music equipment, golf clubs, or just typical luggage that would have been a tight fit in the previous generation Trax. With the addition of the 60/40 folding rear seat, the increased space becomes even bigger.
Overall, this was a much-needed, and according to reviews, much-appreciated update to the Trax.
